Twitching and moving its little legs and making small squeaks, this 12-day-old Bulldog puppy is really adorable.
Do you know the cause of a puppy's sleep twitches?
Many people have seen what seems to be twitching in the legs of a sleeping dog. Scientists aren't sure what causes this behavior, but it seems like the dog is fantasizing about pursuing a rabbit. It has been theorized that pups twitch in their sleep because they are reliving the motions they become used to when breastfeeding. Still others attribute the tics to a response to fluctuations in brain activity that occur at various phases of rest. However, twitching is probably just an indication that the puppy is quite comfortable. It's quite normal for a puppy to twitch lightly in its sleep as a way of expelling excess energy.
