Despite being a stray, Argentinean dog Way has a kind heart. The stray dog had just given birth to her pups and was doing all in her might to take care of them when she came across another person in need.
Even though Way had always managed to find food on the streets, she now had a lot more mouths to feed. She had to get moving quickly since winter had arrived in Argentina.
Way then came upon a human infant, only hours old, abandoned in an alley. Maternal instincts kicked in, and the dog realized the newborn needed to be kept warm. Way returned to her litter of pups, and, one by one, she brought them back to the infant. She did her best to round the group with her body and finally she did it.
The newborn's screams could be heard by a local woman called Alejandria Griffin the next morning. And when she checked it out for herself, she was really taken aback by what she found. Someone had left a newborn outside, and a stray dog had taken her in as her own. She dialed 911 for assistance right away.
The infant, who has now been given the name Santino, was brought to the hospital's emergency department for treatment. Doctors agree with Alejandria that the infant would not be alive today if it weren't for the courageous deeds of the stray dog. Many people looked up to Way as a role model.
For everything that Santino had been through, he was in remarkably excellent health. Way was largely responsible for this.
A 33-year-old Buenos Aires lady with eight other children was identified as the baby's mother by police. She was taken into custody and charged with infant abandonment.
A local shelter took Way and her babies in and promised to care for them until they found permanent homes. Wow, that's a fantastic tale in every respect.
