Dog rescue : Champ's inability to heal from spinal fracture and damage

A street dog had been injured on a busy road

In pain, he was hiding

His leg was severely swollen

We needed to be very careful lifting him

We gave him medicine for pain

The poor sweetheart was so frightened

His femur was fractured and his spine damaged

He would need 6 weeks of bed rest

Now feeling safe, what a loving boy

He offered his paw-shake to everyone

He needed to be so patient

Daily physiotherapy would help strengthen his muscles

He started to enjoy playing

But we worried he might never be able to walk

We began daily hydrotherapy

And he loved it!

After almost a year of effort, it seemed this boy would never walk again. But for Champ, "never" only meant "a little later."

We also neutered Champ

He played with friends

Looks so happy

He still occasionally tumbles, so Champ's forever home will be right here with us in Animal Aid's sanctuary.

He has a new life, thanks support team
